ROM stands for Read-Only Memory.


ROM is :

  • nonvolatile
  • computer memory on which data has been prerecorded
  • data cannot be removed and can only be read
  • retain its contents even when the computer is turned off
  • used extensively in calculators and peripheral devices such as laser printer
