- Help people with computer problems
- Provide technical assistance to customers
- Identify and solve customers' hardware and software problems
- Provide support to people in the information processing department of a company
- Teach people how to use computer tools,software or hardware(Some write instruction books too)
- Oversee the daily performance of computer systems
- Maintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken
- Set up equipment for employee use
- Performing or ensuring proper installation of cable
- Modify and customize commercial programs for internal needs
- Prepare evaluations of software or hardware, and recommend improvements or upgrades
